It looks like Vakoun Bayo is enjoying his time away from Celtic.

The big Ivorian striker joined the Hoops for £2 million under Brendan Rodgers in January of 2019 but struggled in a big way to justify the transfer fee in Glasgow.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon loaned Bayo to Toulouse earlier this month, with the player managing only 206 minutes of Premiership football since arriving 18 months ago.

The 23-year-old was deemed surplus to requirements in Scotland, but he has got his Ligue 2 career off to a flier.

Toulouse were thumped 5-3 by Grenoble on Saturday but Bayo came out of it looking well, scoring two first-half goals on what was his competitive debut for the club.

Strikers are a topic for discussion at Celtic right now.

Lennon’s side were dumped out of the Champions League by Hungarian minnows Ferencvarosi in midweek, after the Irish manager was forced to start midfielder Ryan Christie up front in the absence of Odsonne Edouard.

Bayo was injured for a chunk of his Bhoys career, but mostly he was just overlooked by Lennon and here’s how Celtic fans reacted to his brace on Twitter yesterday:
