Reported Liverpool and Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai has told RB Salzburg’s official website that he won’t be leaving this summer.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been said to be tracking the teenaged midfielder for some time now, with his performances in Austria impressing.
TuttoSport said in April that Liverpool were interested in Szoboszlai, while Arsenal have been linked with the wonderkid throughout the summer, including in the Guardian.
That scale of interest may have turned the heads of many teenagers.
However, Szoboszlai has suggested that he feels that another season with Salzburg could be best for his development.
“I have spoken with my family and adviser, and decided to stay in Salzburg,” he said.
“I would like to have another Champions League journey here.”
The comments may come as a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool fans, who had been hoping that their sides would take the wonderful talent.
Szoboszlai is still in his teenaged years, but he looks a real star of the future.
At the cost of £22 million (Calcio Mercato) he could have offered a great value for money buy, but it seems that Liverpool and Arsenal will have to watch the Hungarian from a distance again for at least another year.
