Serhou Guirassy has rejected a move to the Premier League after Amiens’ president confirmed Crystal Palace and West Ham’s interest the £18 million-rated forward, according to FootMeracto.

This rangy Frenchman must know exactly how Wilfried Zaha feels.

The pressure on Guirassy’s shoulders was nothing short of crushing at times last season, with Amiens relying almost solely on their star striker to save them from dropping into the relegation zone.

There is only so much one can do of course and, despite scoring nine times in a struggling side, Guirassy was unable to salvage Amiens’s Ligue 1 status.

Since having their relegation confirmed by the LFP, who decided the 2019/20 campaign on a Points per Game basis, Amiens president Bernard Joannin has admitted that clubs from across the Channel have reached out to ask about Guirassy (ButFootballClub).

“To the French interest, we can also add Crystal Palace and West Ham,” said Joannin, who would rather see his most prized asset move to England due to the finances offered by Premier League clubs.

“Currently, the most interesting offers are those coming from England but we do not want to stand in the way of Serhou’s career. It is up to Serhou’s advisers to see which is the best option.”

Unfortunately for Joannin, Guirassy has made it clear that he has no interest in heading across the sea before the transfer window slams shut.

And this is a massive blow to a Crystal Palace side that scored a miserable 31 goals in 38 league games last season. Only bottom-of-the-table Norwich City managed fewer.
