Former Ibrox striker Kris Boyd has criticised Rangers star Alfredo Morelos in The Scottish Sun.
Boyd, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Morelos does not seem to have the same fire in his belly as he had last season.
The former Rangers striker made the comments while discussing the future of Ryan Kent.
According to The Scottish Sun, promoted Premier League club Leeds United have failed with a £10 million bid for the Rangers winger and will make a new offer of £14 million.
The Express has claimed that Lille are planning to make a new offer for Morelos, with the French club having previously been turned down by Rangers despite the Colombia international striker having agree personal terms.
Morelos was also left out of the Rangers squad for the Scottish Premiership match against Kilmarnock at Ibrox on Saturday.
Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “For my money, he is far more important than Alfredo Morelos or any other player at the club.
“The Colombian doesn’t have the same fire in his belly this season. He has looked a shadow of himself.
“Kent is the biggest game-changer in that dressing room, with Joe Aribo a little bit behind him.”
Stay or leave?
If Morelos wants to leave for Lille, then perhaps Rangers should consider selling him, although they have to make sure that they get the transfer fee that they want.
While the Colombian is a very good striker, the Gers do have three other players for that position now – Kemar Roofe, Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe.
