It has been reported that Newcastle, Everton, Fulham and West Ham all have shown interest in the central defender and are willing to pay his asking price.
Inter Milan, Atalanta, AS Monaco are also interested in the 30-year-old, with the Red Devils looking for £20 million in transfer fees for the centre-back, according to the report.
The report has added that Smalling favours a move back to AS Roma, having spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at the Serie A outfit, and has told the Red Devils that he will chose his next club and will not be forced into joining a team he does not want to.
Good signing for £20 million?
Smalling may not have a chance of playing regularly for the United first team next season, but for the reported transfer fee of £20 million, the 30-year-old would be a good signing for Everton or West Ham.
The England international is a leader at the back, and with his vast experience, he would make the Toffees of the Hammers stronger defensively.
