It has been reported that Gunners are trying to sign central defender Gabriel from Lille and are in talks with Italian side Napoli over the exit of fellow centre-back Sokratis.
Sokratis has been on the books of Arsenal since the summer of 2018 when he joined from German club Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £17.7 million.
According to WhoScored, this past season, the 32-year-old Greece international central defender scored two goals in 19 Premier League games for the Gunners, and he also made five appearances in the Europa League.
During the 2018-19 campaign, the experienced defender scored one goal and provided two assists in 25 league matches, and scored two goals in 12 Europa League matches for the North London outfit, according to WhoScored.
Gabriel is a very good and promising young defender who is 22 years of age, and if Arsenal can sign the left-footed player and get some transfer fee for the 32-year-old Sokratis, then it would be a good business deal.
