According to Sky Sports, Leeds United have made a third bid for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White, this time worth £25million.
It’s claimed that Leeds have already failed with bids worth £18.5million and £22million as Brighton stand firm.
However, Leeds are now back with another bid, this time increasing their offer to £25million as they look to bring White back to Elland Road.
The centre back spent last season on loan with Leeds, and his outstanding performances helped the Whites return to the Premier League.
Brighton now want to reintegrate White into their squad, but he has allegedly rejected a third new contract offer from the Seagulls.
The 22-year-old may now be tempted to push for a permanent move to Leeds, having enjoyed his time there so much last season.
Having snubbed £22million, it’s hard to imagine Brighton’s stance will be changed by an extra £25million, but Leeds will be hoping that White’s contract situation can tempt them into a deal.
This fee would be a club-record for Leeds, which shows just how serious they are about signing White – and it’s now up to Brighton to decide whether £25million meets their valuation.
