The Baltimore Ad that went viral
- Kim’s viral campaign ad speaks on “life in democrat run cities” and critiques leaders for allowing Baltimore to fall into decades of poverty and crime.
Kim strongly advocates for Black Lives Matter, this can be seen in the campaign. It is a walking-tour video, in which she urges black residents to not vote Rep. Kweisi Mfume, who beat her in an election to fill Rep. Elijah Cummings’ seat after his death last year in 2019
“Do you care about black lives? The people that run Baltimore don’t. I can prove it. Walk with me. They don’t want you to see this,” Kim exclaimed in the video posted on Monday 17th August to Twitter.
The video shows Kim to wander through run-down parts of Maryland whilst listing statistics on Baltimore’s high crime and murder rates. Kim also interviews black residents who oppose defunding the police, one man emotionally shared how three of his sons were murdered. Kim protests that something has to change stating:
“Democrats think black people are stupid. They think they can control us forever, that we won’t demand better and that we’ll keep voting for them forever, despite what they’ve done to our families and our communities.”
