There was a Panel From Hell showcase for Baldur’s Gate 3 yesterday, and this confirmed the release date of the game’s Early Access. In addition, it also promised that roughly 20 hours of content would be available, and five recruitable characters have also been confirmed.
The release date for Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access is September 30th. Larian Studios were initially targeting August, but this slight delay shouldn’t upset the community as the date isn’t too far off from now.
In regard to what content you can expect, there will be roughly 20 hours with five Origin characters plus character-customised characters.
The Early Access will feature the first of what will eventually spiral into three acts, and you’ll be able to recruit the following five Origin characters:
- Elf/Vampire Rogue – Astarion
- Human Wizard – Gale
- Githyanki Warrior – Lae’zel
- Half-Elf Cleric – Shadowheart
- Human Warlock – Wyll
As well as the above Classes and recruitable characters, Larian Studios have also provided statistics about how many combat scenarios and more there will be in the Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access compared to Divinity Original Sin 2 (via Polygon):
- Combat encounters: 80 in BG3 EA vs. 22 in DOS2 EA
- English dialogue lines: 45,980 in BG3 EA vs. 17,600 in DOS2 EA
- Characters: 596 in BG3 EA vs. 142 in DOS2 EA
- Spells/actions: 146 in BG3 EA vs. 69 in DOS2 EA
Early Access for Baldur’s Gate 3 will be available via Steam.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most anticipated games thanks to it being developed by the people responsible for the incredible Divinity Original Sin series, Larian Studios. It was surprisingly announced back at E3 2019 with an incredibly gory CGI trailer that still haunts many to this day, but since its reveal lots of people have been asking: when is the Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access release date? The good news is that you’ll find out during today’s Panel From Hell.
With Larian Studios famous for the Divinity Original Sin series, it’s no surprise that the turn-based combat of Baldur’s Gate 3 is very similar. However, what is a welcome surprise is that the presentation is more in-line with a BioWare game such as Dragon Age Inquisition when talking to comrades. This is especially good news for those who didn’t enjoy the faraway camera with text taking up most of the screen.
If the game is one of your most anticipated and you want to play as soon as possible, below you’ll discover how to watch the Panel From Hell live so you can find out the Early Access release date.
