Dixie opened up about her seizures on Instagram Live

Dixie took to Instagram Live yesterday (August 17th) to open up about a very important part of her life. Many people have been starting rumours online recently about why Dixie changed High Schools, so she decided to address the rumours and tell the truth.

She says: “When I was in sophomore year in High School, I had very bad anxiety, and it got so bad to the point where I developed this thing called PNES which is Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures.”

She then reveals that on April 18th, she asked her friend to walk her outside to her mum’s car because she didn’t feel well, then she “fell to the ground” and had a “seizure”.

“I’m taken to the hospital and I’m there for two days where I have people constantly monitoring me and I have over 400 of these compulsions over the next two days,” she says.

Dixie then reveals that after leaving the school, she developed other symptoms that are associated with PNES such as a stutter and shaking all the time.

Dixie slams fans who say her seizures are fake

In the Instagram Live, Dixie briefly touches on the fact that some fans have accused her of faking her seizures, and argues that she wouldn’t have had to change school’s if they weren’t real.

Then, after finishing the livestream she took to Twitter to fight back at those claims even further.

One Twitter user posted a claim that she has been faking the seizures, saying: “Dixie D’Amelio allegedly faked seizures to get out of her High School classes, according to someone who went to Dixie’s school.”

Dixie then replied to the post: To all of the adults replying to this tweet saying i’m ”disgusting”…how do you think i feel when i actually lived through this and people say i was faking for attention? maybe think before you type..”
