Leeds United will target Freiburg defender Robin Koch this summer when their hopes of re-signing Ben White are over, according to a report.
The Telegraph have claimed that Koch will be an alternative option to White, who is Leeds’ number one target, but they are finding it difficult to thrash out a deal for the Brighton man.
Koch is a German international and Marcelo Bielsa’s side aren’t the only Premier League club who are seemingly keen on his signature.
The Sun previously suggested (26/06/20, page 54) that Koch would be keen on a move to Tottenham, as the £22 million rated player seemingly told his club that he won’t be signing a new deal [Kicker] amid interest in his services.
Koch is an established and versatile player in German’s top-tier and he would suit both Leeds and Jose Mourinho’s side down to the ground.
He has the capabilities of bringing the ball out from the back, he is a dominant figure at the heart of Freiburg’s defence and can also play the number six role.

During Leeds’ promotion campaign, White mainly played at the heart of Bielsa’s defence by showcasing calmness, authority and an ability to drive with the ball from his own half.
Not only that, when Kalvin Phillips was either suspended or injured, but he would also step into the holding role with ease, so from that aspect, Koch would be an ideal player for the club.
If the highly-rated 24-year-old does move to the Premier League, it will be interesting to see where he ends up and whether Spurs hold the edge over the Yorkshire club because they are in Europe.
Either way, it seems as though England’s top-flight may see an underrated figure join the league and one that could prove to be a top-quality purchase down the line.
