Pokémon Go is currently in the midst of its final Ultra Unlock for August named Unova Week. This seven day event provides players with the opportunity to catch a shiny Roggenrola, but it has also added some new creatures from the Unova region including Cottonee. Here you’ll discover how to get Cottonee and evolve it into Whimsicott before Pokémon Go’s Unova Week ends.

Away from Unova Week, the voting candidates for the September and October community days for Pokémon Go have been revealed. The candidates are Charmander, Caterpie, Grimer, and Porygon, and fans will be able to vote for which creatures they want to hog the spotlight in September and October.

However, before those months come about, below you’ll discover how to get Cottonee and evolve it into Whimsicott before Unova Week concludes.

How to catch Cottonee in Pokémon Go

You have the opportunity to get and catch Cottonee in Pokémon Go during Unova Week.

Before Unova Week finishes on August 21st at 21:00 BST, Pokémon Go players will have better odds at encountering Cottonee in the Wild.

Other new creatures from the Unova Region that can be encountered in the Wild include Sewaddle and Emolga.

In addition to having increased spawn rates for appearing in the Wild, Cottonee, Emolga, and Sewaddle can also hatch from 7km Eggs.

Pokémon Go: How to evolve Cottonee into Whimsicott

You need 50 candy to evolve Cottonee into Whimsicott in Pokémon Go.

However, in addition to 50 of its candy, Pokémon Go players also need the Sun Stone evolution item to complete the transformation of Cottonee into Whimsicott.

Hailing from the Unova region, both creatures are Grass and Fairy-types with a major vulnerability to Poison attacks.

They can be obtained during Unova Week so now is your best chance to add them to your collection.
