Season 2 of NOS4A2 will conclude this Sunday on AMC and BBC America, but fans are already wondering if and when the series will return for season 3.

The second season of the hit supernatural horror series NOS4A2 concludes this Sunday on AMC and BBC America.

However, this hasn’t stopped fans asking if and when the show will return for a third season.

Will there be a third season of NOS4A2?

  • At the time of writing, NOS4A2 has not been renewed for a third season, nor has it been officially cancelled by AMC.

Season 2 of NOS4A2 averaged a 0.1 in ratings and just 385,000 viewers, which is down 53% and 51% respectively compared to the first season. However, despite this dip in performance, we think that NOS4A2 will be renewed for a third season by AMC.

It’s a solid show based on a fantastic novel by Joe Hill and features a diverse cast of Hollywood A-listers. The series is also being simulcast on BBC America, where it is doing quite well, so AMC is essentially getting more bang for their buck.

We are expecting a formal announcement from AMC on the future of NOS4A2 within the next few weeks, so keep checking back in for updates.

When will season 3 be released?

  • As NOS4A2 is yet to be renewed, a potential release date for season 3 remains a mystery, but we predict a June 2021 premiere.

If the series is renewed by AMC for a third season, it is highly likely that it will premiere in the summer of next year. This is based on the release schedule of previous seasons (June 2019 and June 2020), indicating a 12-month production cycle.

The only issue would be concerning delays associated with the global coronavirus pandemic. If NOS4A2 season 3 does experience some problems with production, then we should expect an autumn 2021 premiere.

Season 2 of NOS4A2 concludes this Sunday, on AMC and BBC America.
