The UFC is packed with the best wrestlers from around the world, but who has the best grappling stats in the recently released UFC 4 video game?

There is arguably no way that you can dominate an opponent within MMA than to outwrestle them.

Whether it be the pure mauling of Khabib or the outstanding technical skill of St-Pierre, there are a variety of athletes and styles to work with.

This begs the question, who are the top 10 best wrestlers and grapplers in the recently released UFC 4 video game?

UFC 4: Top 10 best wrestlers/grapplers…

  1. Khabib Nurmahomedov
  2. Ronda Rousey
  3. Daniel Cormier
  4. George St-Pierre
  5. Jacare Souza
  6. Demetrius Johnson
  7. Jon Jones
  8. Colby Covington
  9. Henry Cejudo
  10. Kamaru Usman

Khabib Nurmagomedov

  • Rated 5 Star – Averaged 95.2/100

Let’s be honest, the fact that Khabib is the highest-rated grappler in UFC 4 is no surprise, with excellent takedown, top control, ground striking and clinch control stats.

However, was it surprising is that Lightweight world champion also has excellent submission offence and defence stats too.

Ronda Rousey

  • Rated 5 Star – Averaged 95.1/100

There is no doubt that Ronda Rousey is one of the biggest superstars that the UFC have ever seen and a large part of her success came down to her wrestling and submission game.

In UFC 4, she is the dominant female fighter on the ground, with superb stats across the board.

Daniel Cormier

  • Rated 5 Star – Averaged 94.3/100

At a close third to Khabib and Ronda is DC, but again that’s not really too much of a surprise either.

The former two-division title-holder has an incredibly well-rounded grappling game in UFC 4, with especially good ground striking, clinch striking and control.

At the time of writing, the trilogy match with Stipe is still a few days away, so DC could decide to up his ratings if there is a dominant grappling performance this Saturday.

George St-Pierre

  • Rated 5 Star – Averaged 91/100

Considered by many to be the greatest UFC athlete of all time, ‘Rush’ was arguably the first fighter to truly weaponize wrestling in the octagon.

However, despite being rated 5-star on UFC 4 for grappling, St-Pierre is actually incredibly low rated overall and sits at disappointing rank 20 in terms of average grappling score.

Jacare Souza

  • Rated 4.5 Star – Averaged 94/100

Whilst Jacare may not have the best wrestling credentials in the UFC, the Brazilian has an extremely well-rounded grappling game in this title.

According to the launch stats, he is the third most dangerous submission specialist in the UFC, only being beaten by Damian Mia and Aleksei Oleinik.

Demetrious Johnson

  • Rated 4.5 Star – Averaged 93.8/100

Johnson is definitely one of the best athletes to ever compete in MMA and is one of the top grapplers in UFC 4, with well-rounded stats and very few weak spots defensively.

Jon Jones

  • Rated 4.5 Star – Averaged 93.75/100

The current UFC Light heavyweight world champion may not have the best wrestling stats in UFC 4, but he definitely makes up for it in the grappling department, with superb clinch striking, control and ground striking.

Colby Covington

  • Rated 4.5 Star – Averaged 93.3/100

The former NCAA Division I wrestler certainly has his superb wrestling skills on showcase in UFC 4, with superb takedown, top control and clinch control ratings.

Either way, seeing himself two places above his rival Kamaru Usman and 7 places (unofficially) above Tyrone Woodley has got to put a smile on Chaos’ face.

Henry Cejudo

  • Rated 4.5 Star – Averaged 93/100

The former UFC Flyweight and Featherweight world champion may not be too happy with his stats on UFC 4. Whilst he may no longer be an active fighter, ‘Triple C’ was still one of the most decorated wrestlers the sport has ever seen.

His stats are well-rounded, but no specific department really stands out in UFC, especially the takedown and clinch work -a bit disappointing for the King of Cringe.

Kamaru Usman

  • Rated 4.5 Star – Averaged 92.7/100

The tenth best grappler in UFC 4 is the current Welterweight world champion.

Whist the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ does have well-rounded grappling stats, I would have expected his clinch rating to be slightly higher considering his last three wins against Woodley, Covington and Masvidal all involved fantastic work in the clinch.

NOTE: The scores out of 100 are from the individual stats concerning: Takedowns, Top Control, Bottom Control, Submission Offence, Submission Defence, Ground Striking, Clinch Striking and Clinch Control.

These stats and rankings for the best UFC 4 wrestlers and grapplers are correct at the time of launch and will be updated when the official ratings change, so keep checking back in.
