Wolverhampton Wanderers could sign Faouzi Ghoulam this summer with Jorge Mendes planning to take the Algeria international away from Napoli, according to Calciomercato.
Considering that a long-serving left-back has not been a regular at the Stadio San Paolo since the 2015/16 season, a parting of the ways seems long overdue.
Ghoulam has lost his place at Napoli to the buccaneering Portugal international Mario Rui and, according to reports this week, the Coppa Italia champions have joined a growing queue of clubs keen to sign Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.
As a result, Ghoulam is in danger of falling from second choice to third in Gennaro Gattuso’s plans.
Fortunately, he has an agent who specialises in securing high-profile moves for his extensive array of clients.
And it just so happens that Mendes has an excellent relationship with the Fosun International group who took charge of Wolves back in 2016.

Calciomercato reports that the Iberian super-agent is now hard at work as he looks to secure a move to Molineux for Ghoulam, a 37-time international who joined Napoli from St Etienne in a £5 million deal during the Rafa Benitez era.
Wolves have lost the dependable Jonny Otto to an injury, which could keep him on the sidelines for months.
Ghoulam, with his superb crossing ability and his boundless energy, looks like a ready-made replacement.
