Crystal Palace will have to wait to sign Florinel Coman with Steaua Bucharest owner Gigi Becali making it clear that no deal will be done until the very end of the transfer window, speaking to Antena, translated by Sport.
With the new Premier League season now just a few weeks away, Roy Hodgson would understandably rather to get his business done early.
Attacking reinforcements are a must for a Palace side who scored just 31 goals last season and failed to win any of their final eight games – especially as uncertainty reigns once again about Wilfried Zaha’s future.
A host of talented wingers have been mentioned as potential replacements, with Coman joining Ryan Fraser, Gerard Deulofeu and Ismaila Sarr in the gossip columns.
But, as the always outspoken Becali has made clear, Coman is not going anywhere until the Europa League qualifiers are over – potentially delaying a deal until October 3rd.
“Now, no player leaves. Until the qualifiers are over, no player leaves. Nothing, neither Coman, nor (Dennis) Man, nothing. I am not interested in negotiating. Giovanni (Gigi’s cousin and Coman’s agent) knows this,” he says.

“The main goal is to qualify in the Europa League, in the group stage. Until then, no one is leaving.”
Giovanni Becali told Fanatik this week that Palace are mulling over a potential £13 million deal to bring Romania international Coman to England.
Norwich City, meanwhile, had made an approach for Man, offering £5 million, with sporting director Stuart Webber admitting to Pink ‘Un that the speedy forward was indeed a target.
