Rapper Juelz Santana is out of prison.

His wife Kimbella has confirmed the news in an Instagram post, saying that she was waiting to reunite with her partner outside the prison.

Who is Juelz Santana?

Juelz Santana, whose real name is LaRon Louis James, is a rapper and member of the hip hop group Dipset.

He first got signed by Priority Records at the age of 15 with friend Malik who used to perform as the duo Draftpick.

In 1998, he joined Dipset and he later released a remix of ‘What Means the World to You’, as well as the tracks ‘Double Up’ and ‘All the Chickens’.

He further rose to fame after releasing his first studio album ‘From Me To U’ which reached number 8th on Billboard 200 in 2003.

How long and why was Juelz in prison?

Juelz was arrested and sentenced for carrying a gun, according to Complex.

The publication reported that the rapper fled from Newark Liberty International Airport in March 2018 after agents found a loaded handgun and Oxycodone pills.

Juelz pleaded guilty for the possession of a firearm and was sentenced in December 2018.

The rapper received a 27-month prison sentence which he started serving in May last year. His expected release was some time in 2021, however, he was released on Wednesday, August 5th.

Juelz takes to Instagram

Following his release, the rapper was quick to share a few Instagram posts and reconnect with his followers.

In one Insta post, Juelz wrote: “Free at last.”

Another image shows Juelz reuniting with family members which he captioned: “I missed my family.. GOD is good!!!”

In his most recent Instagram post, the rapper is having a much-needed haircut.
