Some Fulham fans on Twitter want to see their club re-sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Sessegnon following their promotion to the Premier League.

The Cottagers are back in the big time after their tense extra-time victory over Brentford at Wembley on Tuesday night.

Tottenham signed the 20-year-old for £25 million from their fellow Londoners last summer following their relegation to the Championship.

But it wasn’t a brilliant first season at Spurs for the young sensation, who managed only six Premier League appearances totalling 341 minutes.

And worryingly for him, there’s no guarantees that head coach Jose Mourinho – who wasn’t in North London when Sessegnon was signed – will play him any more next term.

The player himself tweeted his congratulations to Fulham after beating the Bees last night – and here’s how some of their fans responded to him on social media:

Could Fulham realistically sign him? Probably not.

Tottenham, who took a £200 million loan out earlier this summer, won’t be spending heavily during the off-season and there’s every chance they need to keep their big players together.

Sessegnon might not be a big player yet, but he clearly has a massive future in football and Mourinho might use him a bit more next term.
