Get Even arrived on Netflix at the end of July but fans of the teen drama are already asking if season 2 is around the corner.

Netflix may be best known for series such as The Umbrella Academy and Stranger Things, but recent years have shown that there’s a much more diverse range of content on the streaming service.

From docuseries and reality TV to Oscar-winning films and international TV series, there’s always something new to watch.

Get Even is US Netflix’s newest import from the UK after it aired on BBC iPlayer in February.

However, despite the series having just arrived on Netflix, fans who have already binged their way through are already turning their attention to a potential season 2.

Get Even on Netflix and BBC iPlayer

Get Even arrived on Netflix in the US on July 31st, 2020, several months after the series hit screens in the UK on BBC iPlayer.

The 10-episode series tells the story of four teenage girls, Kitty, Bree, Margot and Olivia, as they work to get even with the bullies at their school, who range from students to teachers, by exposing their cruel deeds.

However, the group – who are known as DGM (Don’t Get Mad) – are framed after one of the school’s bullies, Ronny, is murdered.

Get Even Season 2 renewal status

  • At the time of writing, it has not been announced whether or not Get Even will return for a second season.

However, that’s understandable as the show has only just made its debut on Netflix and it often takes some time for the streaming service, or the BBC for that matter, to announce new seasons.

Fans of the series though, are already filling social media with comments, begging for a second instalment.

Potential release date and plot

In the world of TV, it usually takes around a year for new series to arrive. As a result, if Get Even is indeed renewed for a new batch of episodes, we’re likely to see them emerge in early-to-mid 2021 depending on the BBC and Netflix’s release schedules.

Although, given the delays caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we wouldn’t be surprised if a second series did arrive a little later.

In terms of plot, Get Even is based on the Don’t Get Mad novel series by Gretchen McNeil.

And as season 1 of Get Even is based on the first book in the series, it doesn’t take much imagination to deduce that a second season could follow the story of the second book in the series, Get Dirty, which sees the DGM group face their biggest challenge yet as they’re tormented by an anonymous and deadly new threat.

Until we learn more, season 1 of Get Even is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and US Netflix after releasing on February 14th and July 31st respectively.
