Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and Neil Lennon’s Celtic have been linked with Aliou Traore, but it seems that the Old Firm clubs could miss out on the Manchester United youngster.

Interest from Rangers and Celtic

In June, France Football reported that Rangers and Celtic are looking to sign Traore from Premier League giants United in the summer transfer window (click here to read more).

Described as “a tremendously gifted young player” by former United star Nicky Butt, as quoted in The Manchester Evening News in January 2018, the 19-year-old is a very talented and promising young central midfielder.

Although the youngster has failed to establish himself in the United first team, if he gets a run of games, he could start to show what he is capable of.

Missing out

There is no surprise that Rangers and Celtic reportedly want to sign the Frenchman this summer, but it seems that the Scottish Premiership giants could lose out to Caen.

According to FootMercato, Caen have started talks with the representatives of the teenager over a transfer this summer.

If talks go well, then the central midfielder could end up at Caen, meaning that Rangers and Celtic would miss out.
