West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Steven-Andreas Benda from Swansea City in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that West Brom manager Slaven Bilic likes the 21-year-old goalkeeper.

The youngster spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Swindon Town in League Two and helped them to promotion to League One.

The report has added that West Brom – who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching automatic promotion from the Championship – want two new goalkeepers to compete with Sam Johnstone for a place in the starting lineup.

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, who is a free agent at the moment after leaving Burnley, is on West Brom’s radar as well, according to The Sun.

Good move for West Bromwich Albion?

Benda has yet to make an impact in the Swansea first team, but he did well during his loan spell at Swindon, with manager Richie Wellens telling The Swindon Advertiser in December 2019 that he “is the real deal and could go all the way”.

The German is a very young goalkeeper, and he would be a long-term prospect at The Hawthorns if he is to switch clubs this summer.
