Wolverhampton Wanderers could send Matija Sarkic to Sunderland after recently signing him following his departure from Aston Villa, according to The Sun.

Sarkic has only just joined Premier League club Wolves after leaving Villa this summer.

The report in the British tabloid has claimed that the Wanderers are ready to move the 23-year-old goalkeeper out on loan this summer.

It has been added that the Montenegro international could head to Sunderland in League One.

Good move for Matija Sarkic?

Sarkic failed to make an impact at Villa and had a number of loan spells during his time at Villa Park, including at Wigan Athletic.

Rui Patricio is the first-choice goalkeeper at Wolves, and that is not going to change anytime soon.

A loan move away from the Molineux Stadium does make sense for the Montenegro international, and Sunderland would be a good option.

The Black Cats may be in League One at the moment, but they are one of the biggest clubs in England.

Sunderland will be aiming to finish in the top two of the League One table next season, and Sarkic would be playing in a very competitive environment.
