Liverpool fans on Twitter were full of praise for Nicolas Pepe after he helped Arsenal win the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted a brace to help Arsenal lift yet another trophy, as they will now meet the Premier League champions, Liverpool, in the community shield later on this month.

A number of Arsenal players produced impressive displays, as Pepe was one who shone brightest for certain sections of the Anfield support.

Pepe arrived in England last summer for big-money and it’s fair to say that he has been previously criticised for his performances – it’s up for debate whether that has been harsh or not.

But one thing is for sure, he answered his critics in the FA Cup final and he will be pleased that he has managed to lift a trophy in his first season at the Emirates.

Whilst Aubameyang will get the headlines for his brace, some Liverpool fans felt that his teammate, who provided him with an assist for his second goal, was the best player on the pitch.

After Chelsea went 1-0 up, Pepe netted a quite brilliant curling effort from outside the box, but his goal was ruled out for offside.

But that didn’t stop him from getting at Chelsea’s backline, as Arsenal scored both of their goals on either side of the half.

Here is a selection of Liverpool fans praising Pepe’s performance from last night:
