Robin van Persie has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Arsenal winning against Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup this evening.
The former Arsenal striker has congratulated the Gunners on clinching the FA Cup this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side got the better of Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley Stadium in London, thanks to a double from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international striker scored his first goal from the penalty spot in the first half, and added a second on 67 minutes with a lovely finish.
Van Persie is pleased to see his former club win the FA Cup, and he has also praised Arsenal striker Aubameyang for his second goal.
Over the course of the 90 minutes on Saturday evening, Arsenal had 40% of the possession, took 11 shots of which three were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
Chelsea had 60% of the possession, took nine shots of which three were on target, and earned four corners, according to BBC Sport.
Arsenal will now play in the Europa League next season, while Chelsea had already qualified for the Champions League after finishing in the top four of the Premier League table.
