Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ready to make an offer for goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
The Lille star has been linked with a move to North London in recent weeks and speculation could be set to intensify on that front.
That’s because the Ligue 1 outfit have signed Napoli stopper Orestis Karnezis in a move which means Maignan isn’t as needed as he was last season.
As a result, the Spurs rumours look set to get stronger and Le10 Sport have reported that the Lilywhites – and Chelsea – are drawing up an offer for the 25-year-old.
The same publication has previously reported that the French club could sell for around £18 million.
Le10 Sport adds that Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the former France Under-21 international, and that the Portuguese wants him as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Lloris, who turns 34 this year, had a good end to the 2019-20 campaign, and is very much a club legend after but just finishing his eighth season, but a mistake is never far away with the World Cup winner and Mourinho is right to be looking at long-term alternatives.
It remains to be seen whether Maignan is the man to replace him, but that’s what the talk will be over the coming weeks and months.
