According to GianlucadiMarzio, Atalanta have joined Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Club Brugge attacker Emmanuel Dennis this summer.
The Nigeria international netted nine times in 33 games this season.
Dennis showed off his enormous potential with a magnificent brace in the 2-2 draw with La Liga champions Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League.
His form has attracted the interests of several clubs ahead of the summer.
A report by Footmercato claimed Brighton, Southampton and Crystal Palace were keen.
But the latest reports from Italy suggest he is the subject of a tussle between more illustrious clubs such as Dortmund, Arsenal and Champions League quarter-finalists Atalanta.
Atalanta have quietly grown into a top club. The Italians face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League while finishing in the top three in Serie A.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are keen to make the most of their current position.
Dennis, 22, has an abundance of potential, with fellow Nigerian Sunday Oliseh dubbing him extremely talented and tipping him for a big move this summer.
Arsenal may see Dennis as a potential alternative to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang’s future with the Gunners is uncertain as his contract expires in 2021. If a new deal can’t be sorted soon, Arsenal must cash in on him.
Mikel Arteta won’t want to lose any of his leading players. However, the Spaniard must have one eye on the future and Dennis represents a long-term investment.
GianlucadiMarzio go on to say that Club Brugge will seek around £22 million for their prized asset – a rather modest fee for a top talent even during the recent global health crisis.
