Some Newcastle United fans on Twitter are begging Jamie Reuben not to give up in the takeover of their club.
It was revealed earlier this week that Saudi Public Investment Fund would not be completing their £350 million deal to buy the club.
Amanda Staveley and the Reuben brothers were set to own 10 percent apiece, but the plug was pulled after a delay in getting a decision from the Premier League over whether it would be approved.
This has left Newcastle fans devastated because not only were they going to see the end of Mike Ashley’s ownership, they were set to see him replaced with a mega-rich, ambitious group.
The Reuben brothers had donated a lot of money to local foodbanks in the area since the global health emergency began earlier this year.
Jamie Reuben commented on a tweet applauding his family’s charity, but fans of the St James’s Park were quick to respond to that by urging them not to give up.
Here’s what some of the supporters are saying:
The Reuben family have an estimated wealth of around £18 billion [The Chronicle], which is more than enough to launch their own bid to take 100 percent control of the club.
But it doesn’t seem like the desire is there, while Henry Mauriss, according to The Telegraph, has agreed a £350 million deal with Ashley to buy the North-East giants, but fans aren’t overly keen on the United States-based tycoon coming into play.
