A new tell-all biography titled Finding Freedom reveals the Royal Family are disapproving of Meghan’s jewellery choices as Meg should remain more conservative in what she shares!
What is the H&M necklace?
The 38-year-old American actress was spotted wearing a £184 14 karat gold necklace, rumoured to be gifted by Prince Harry. The necklace has the initials ‘H & M’ on standing for the power couples names, Harry and Meghan.
Where is the necklace from?
best-selling new book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family by veteran royal journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the authors report in the biography that the necklace caused quite the controversy within the palace.
Why did the necklace cause such an uproar?
This quote from the book explains the royals’ disapproval, “She was advised that wearing such a necklace only served to encourage the photographers to keep pursuing such images — and new headlines,”
However, a spokesman for both Megan and Harry have stated that “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom. This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting.” Therefore it is not certain whether the ‘H&M’ initial necklace was actually forbidden!
It feels as though Meghan can’t do anything right!
Meghan had a phone call with a senior Kensington Palace aide according to the new book which describes Meg’s reaction to the necklace drama as being very mature.
Meghan “said little during the call, choosing instead to simply listen to the counsel. But after hanging up, she felt frustrated and emotional. While she knew the aide had good intentions, the surreal experience of having someone from her boyfriend’s office tell her what kind of jewelry to wear or not to smile at a photographer was too much.”
However, according to the book, Meghan then rang a close friend to let off steam, stating “I can’t win. They make out like I’m to blame for these pictures, that it looks like I’m encouraging them, that me even acknowledging the cameras may not be sending the right message. I don’t know what to say. It was only yesterday that people online were saying I look miserable in pictures, because I was trying to just ignore the [photographer].”
The biography is due to be released in the US on August 11th, so be sure to get your hands on a copy to uncover the rest of the drama surrounding the ‘H&M’ necklace!
