Why is Mielle Organics being ‘cancelled’?

It all started when Linda Lynn uploaded a video reviewing Mielle Organics’s hair products.

The owner and CEO of Mielle Organics, Monique Rodriguez, commented on the video that Linda was “using the products incorrectly”.

There was a back and forth in the comment section between the two women, and Linda wrote: “I wasn’t expecting this to come from you! Not you! I feel so attacked.”

She continued: “Sometimes we have to place out ego to the side and come at our sisters with grace!”

Linda Lynn then uploaded a video on July 17th, titled: “MIELLE ORGANICS Y’ALL ARE OUT OF LINE FOR THIS! | I’m Still Appalled.”

In the video she revealed everything that had happened since her original review video. She told fans:

“Her husband, Melvin, has the audacity to call my phone. He called my phone posing as a representative for the Mielle Organics company.”

“His whole phone conversation to me was very belittling.”

Did Mielle Organics apologise?

Mielle uploaded a video onto their Youtube channel on July 27th, where they issued a statement.

They wrote:

“Late May, we privately addressed a moment of passion taken out of context when an educational intended comment was perceived as an attack on an opinion. A private apology was immediately issued to the affected party via direct messaging.”

“The moment has recently resurfaced within the Youtube hair community whose time and efforts are poured into reviewing our products and for which we truly value.”

They continued:

“We are therefore issuing a second public apology for anyone who may have been offended by the initial ‘product usage’ comment provided by a key principle of our organisation.”
