Leeds United will be in the market for signings this summer, as they look to strengthen for their return to the Premier League.
The Whites are finally back in the top flight, and are already being linked with one potential club-record signing.
The Daily Mail claim that Leeds want to sign Gent attacker Jonathan David, with a fee of around £27million required to sign him.
Lille had offered £23million, but that has been rejected, with Leeds now offering a deal involving ‘more guaranteed payments’ to the Belgian side.
That’s a boost in itself, but Leeds may also be eyeing the future of Alfredo Morelos given how it could directly impact their chances of signing David.
RMC Sport claim that Lille now want to sign Morelos, and have an agreement in principle with the Rangers striker as they attempt to agree a fee.
It’s hard to imagine Lille signing both Morelos and David, so the French side pressing ahead with a move for the Colombian – likely to be cheaper than David – may take them out of the race for the Gent ace.

Leeds should be looking at the Morelos rumours with real belief that they can now get David on board, in what would be a huge coup.
David smashed 23 goals and 10 assists for Gent last season, has huge potential at just 20 years of age and also has versatility to play as a number 10 or as a striker.
The transfer window often throws up these knock-on effect situations, and Rangers losing Morelos may just benefit Leeds.
