Fans of both Tower of God and Rick and Morty have been treated to a brilliant short produced by the anime staff, but does his hint at a crossover?

Let’s be real here, there is a lot of crossover between the fanbase of Tower of God and Rick and Morty. I’m not sure if it is something to do with the average of the viewership or just the affinity for awesome animated content, but there are lots of us who love both shows equally.

On July 25, fans of both series were treated to a brilliant Rick and Morty short from the Tower of God production team, but what are the chances of an actual crossover?

‘Rick and Morty vs. Genocider’

The short itself does not feature any of the incredible characters from Tower of God, but the eight-minute-long sequence is produced by its director Takeshi Sano.

‘Rick and Morty Vs. Genocider’ sees our two protagonists, or at least a one of the other pairs from the multiverse, heading to Japan to investigate some mysterious occurrences.

‘Samurai & Shogun’

This is the second anime-sci fi short we have got this year, with Samurai & Shogun airing earlier this year.

That particular short was far shorter than the recently released one, and had a very different animation style, being produced by the incredibly talented production team at Studio DEEN (KonoSuba, Higurashi and The Seven Deadly Sins).

Could we get a crossover between Tower of God and Rick and Morty?

Whilst highly unlikely, there is always the chance that we could one day get a Rick and Morty cameo in one of our favourite anime.

Personally, I don’t think that we would see any members of the Smith family in Tower of God, but there could definitely be a ‘Rak’ (Gator) appearance in Rick and Morty – that type of humour would fit perfectly in the sci-fi series.

However, a more realistic crossover would be one similar to ‘Interdimensional Cable’ or where Rick walks in on Morty watching Tower of God and comments that this is the only decent show he watches.

Although, this begs the question, what other anime could potentially feature a Rick and Morty crossover? Dr Stone, God of High School, Wacky TV Na Na Na or Shirobako would be my best guesses.
