Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur’s reported hopes of signing Victor Osimhen seem to be over.
Interest from Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur
The Express reported last weekend that Liverpool and Tottenham are interested in signing Osimhen from Lille in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that Spurs are considering making a late move for the forward, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp having enquired about the 21-year-old.
However, it now seems that both Liverpool and Tottenham will reportedly miss out on the signing of the Nigeria international forward.
It has been reported by The Guardian this evening that Napoli have agreed to pay Lille an initial transfer fee of €60 million (£54.59 million), with the forward set to sign a five-year contract with the Italian club.
The report has added that the transfer fee could potentially rise to €81 million (£73.70 million) with add-ons.
According to WhoScored, Osimhen made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Lille this past season, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in the process.
Osimhen is a very talented and promising young forward who could develop into a world-class player in the coming years.
