A new trailer for Everwild, the upcoming game from British game developers Rare, has just premiered, but what date can we expect the title to release?

The Xbox Games showcase has been a massive hit and featured a whole host of new trailers and announcements for upcoming titles.

One such title is Everwild, an upcoming game from the legendary British developers Rare – the team behind Sea of Thieves, Banjo-Kazooie and Goldeneye 007.

An awesome new trailer for Everwild just premiered as part of the Xbox Games showcase, but gamers are now wondering when the title will be officially released

What is Everwild about?

  • Details on the premise of Everwild are strangely lacking at this stage, but the game looks to be a fantasy open-world title, filled with awe and wonder.

Based on the games similar visual style to fellow Rare title Sea of Thieves, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to think this will be a similar open-world experience.

However, there appears to be a lot more mystery to this particular game including different characters, magic and what looks to be a developed narrative.

Personally I could see the experience feeling like a strange mixture of Breath of the Wild, Sea of Thieves and Horizon Zero Dawn – although that may just be the vibes the trailer gives off and not what the actual gameplay will be like.

When will Everwild release?

  • At the time of writing, we don’t have an exact release date for Everwild but expect it to release in late-2020.

An official reveal trailer for the game was recently released as part of the Xbox July showcase, but the trailer ended without an indication as to when the title would release.

Judging from the scope of the game and the obvious amount of dedication/resources that Rare has already put into the title, along with the timing of the trailer for the July showcase, it’s not unreasonable to predict a late-2020 release window.

However, as a window was not officially announced as part of this recent trailer, it does raise suspicions that the game may not release until early-2021. At the end of the day, a developer would rather give a vague premiere date than an optimistic one and be forced to ‘delay’ the full release.

Hopefully, we will get some more news on Everwild over the next few weeks, so keep checking back in on this page.

How much will it cost?

  • At the time of writing, we don’t have an official price for Everwild, but we know the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

The pass costs £7.99 a month on Xbox One, £3.99 on PC. However, you can also get the Ultimate version which includes PC, Console and Xbox Live Gold for £10.99 a month.

As always, we will bring you updates on the future of Everwild as soon as new information is formally announced by Rare.
