Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told Rangers TV that he felt Jamie Barjonas really showed personality for the first time yesterday.
The Gers were in pre-season action on Saturday evening, taking on Nice as their preparations in France continued.
Rangers beat Lyon 2-0 on Thursday evening, and followed that up by beating Nice by the same scoreline last night.
Jermain Defoe finished off a sweeping counter-attack to put Rangers in front, before Barjonas added a second late on.
Rangers clinched the Veolia Trophy with that win, but Gerrard will be more pleased with the fitness and the two clean sheets.
Gerrard handed a chance to midfielder Barjonas, and the 21-year-old took it by scoring a goal as he looks toe establish himself at Ibrox.
Once tipped for a bright future, Barjonas hasn’t really kicked on after loan spells with Bury, Raith Rovers and now Partick Thistle.

The Daily Record claim that Barjonas is set to go out on loan once again this summer, but Gerrard hailed him after the Nice win.
Gerrard believes he saw personality in Barjonas for the first time, and thinks he is better than he has been showing, so he has high hopes for him moving forward.
“I’m pleased for Jamie,” said Gerrard. “This is the first time since I have been in a first-team game that he has really shown personality. We know he has got that, we think he is better than what he’s been showing. So he will stay around us a bit longer and we’ll try and get him a few more opportunities,” he added.
