According to The Telegraph, Everton are one of the four clubs attempting to seal the signing of Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.
It’s claimed that the Toffees want to keep Lallana in Merseyside by offering him a move across Stanley Park.
However, Everton face a battle. Leicester City want to sign Lallana, offering him a move to reunite with Brendan Rodgers.
Brighton and Hove Albion are keen to take the ex-Southampton favourite back to the South Coast, whilst Burnley are the other option.
Lallana, 31, is out of contract this summer. He signed a short-term extension to see out the season with the Reds, but hasn’t played since football restarted.
Jurgen Klopp told The Guardian earlier this month that Lallana likely won’t play and will just leave as a free agent, but believes that Liverpool will miss him greatly.
“I already miss everything about him,” said Klopp. “In this moment he is still here but we will miss him. He is one of the most influential players on the training quality I have ever had in my life. He is an incredible professional,” he added.
Many think Lallana will end up joining Leicester, but Everton can now throw a spanner in the works by bringing the playmaker across to Goodison Park.
Not many players turn out for both Merseyside teams, but with Everton needing midfielder reinforcements, Lallana could play an important role under Carlo Ancelotti should he make the move to the Toffees.
