Tottenham are keen on signing Leicester City winger Demarai Gray this summer, according to the Times.
They report that rapid winger Gray is now into the final year of his Foxes contract.
That means that he could potentially be available for a bargain price, which makes the deal more appealing to Spurs.
The report also says that Brendan Rodgers wants Gray to remain at the club, but has called on him to improve in terms of his intensity.
Sky Sports reported that Tottenham tried to sign Gray back in 2017, but the bid was rejected by the Foxes, not long after they had won the Premier League titles.
But now his contract situation – and potentially his homegrown status – have Spurs back on the trail again, hoping a deal can be struck.
Gray is still just 24 and has plenty of time to improve still, although Rodgers is right to cite the need for him to become a more consistent influence on matches.
Jose Mourinho has already brought in Steven Bergwijn so he is clearly looking to add pace to the flanks of his Spurs side.
