Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham Hotspur are getting a ‘top class’ talent in Alfie Devine.
Reports claim Tottenham are close to a deal for the 15-year-old Wigan Athletic midfielder.
The proposed move comes after Wigan were placed into administration out of the blue by the club’s new owner.
Carragher, the former Liverpool and England defender turned Sky Sports pundit, has a son, James, on Wigan’s books, which leaves him well placed to comment on Devine.
And the 42-year-old posted the following tweet on Friday afternoon:
Devine is not the only young player expected to leave Wigan in the coming few months, and two of his colleagues, Joe Gelhardt and Jensen Weir, have also been linked with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.
There is also said to be interest from other clubs in several of the Latics’ senior squad members, along with manager Paul Cook.

Devine could cost Tottenham around £500,000, according to an earlier report by The Daily Mail.
The England Under-16 international is likely to link up with Tottenham’s development sides initially.
