The trailer has already blown audiences away and the Project Power release date is here. So, here’s how you can tune into the blockbuster.
The wait is almost over.
Netflix has unveiled some exceptional films this year and we’re eager to welcome yet another with Project Power.
The film will introduce us to a world where humans can briefly experience superpowers courtesy of an experimental drug.
We centre on a father played by Jamie Foxx (Just Mercy, Django Unchained) who must save his daughter (played by Dominique Fishback) from the drug’s manufacturers. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises) also stars as a police detective; other cast members include Machine Gun Kelly, Rodrigo Santoro and Amy Landecker.
Such a stacked cast already makes this a must-see, but when can we check it out?
Project Power release date
- Project Power is released on Friday, August 14th 2020.
The film will premiere on Netflix on this date, bringing the blockbuster straight onto home screens!
This will follow the release of a number of blockbusters on Netflix this year, including the likes of Extraction and The Old Guard.
Under the circumstances, it’s great to see that high-concept cinema is still widely available to audiences.
As highlighted by the Express, the film’s directors – Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman – expressed that they were instantly compelled to make the film while in conversation with Entertainment Weekly.
Addressing the script, Henry revealed:
“We read the first 10 pages and were like: ‘We have to make this.’ It was the Robin character we felt was so compelling and unique… Just the realism of it, the thought experiment of what would the world be like if a pill like this existed, and how would it be tested? How would it be distributed? What would the effect be on people?”
We can’t wait to dive into what they’ve crafted and learn the answers for ourselves.
