Celtic’s Andrew Gutman made his first start of 2020 for loan club FC Cincinnati on Thursday.
Gutman is in his second spell with the Ohio side, whom he joined immediately after his transfer from Chicago Fire to Celtic 18 months ago.
And after coming on for the second half of Cincinnati’s 4-0 defeat to Columbus Crew earlier this month, the American left-back was brought in from the start against Atlanta United – a game that ended in a 1-0 win for his team.
Here’s what was said about the 23-year-old on Twitter afterwards:
Gutman is due back at Celtic at the end of this calendar year.
However, with 2019 recruits Greg Taylor and Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo for company, it remains to be seen if or when the Illinois native will ever get his opportunity.

Gutman was brought to Celtic by Brendan Rodgers, who moved to Leicester City shortly afterwards and was replaced as manager by Neil Lennon.
His fellow American full-back, Manny Perez, is currently on loan from Celtic to North Carolina FC of the USL Championship.
