Everton slumped to defeat on Sunday afternoon as they were beaten 3-0 away at Wolverhampton Wanderers in a torrid display.

The Toffees lost at Spurs and then drew with Southampton, meaning fans were hoping for better as they made the trip to Molineux.

Wolves had lost two games in a row heading into this one, but there were back on form as Raul Jimenez opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

Leander Dendoncker headed home a second shortly after the break, and Diogo Jota raced clear to smash in a superb Ruben Neves pass.

Everton offered little going forward, and were disjointed throughout as Carlo Ancelotti didn’t see much to shout about from his side.

Most Everton fans were fuming with the display and want many of the players involved to be sold, but one player caught the eye.

Youngster Anthony Gordon was given another chance in the side, and was given a key role as Everton’s most creative midfielder before being hooked for Alex Iwobi before the hour mark.

Still, Everton fans saw enough from Gordon to be hugely encouraged, branding him ‘scary good’, ‘quality’ and ‘sharp’ after a promising display.

Others noted that Gordon was Everton’s best player ‘yet again’, and is already offering more than Gylfi Sigurdsson.
