Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Rangers striker Jermain Defoe’s comments that Steven Gerrard’s side can beat bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title this season.

The former Celtic striker has responded sarcastically to Defoe’s comments, and believes that the former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United star should do his talking on the pitch.

Defoe has said on The Beautiful Game podcast, as transcribed by The Daily Record, that Rangers can “can go all the way” in the title race and win the championship next season.

Can Rangers win the title?

Celtic have the strongest team in Scotland and will be determined to make it 10 Scottish Premiership titles in a row next season.

The Hoops will start the campaign as favourites, and Rangers will know that they have to maintain consistency.

Under manager Gerrard, for the past two seasons, the Gers have struggled in the second half, and that has to change if the Ibrox club are going to give Celtic a run for their money in 2020-21.
