According to Radio Catalunya, Barcelona are looking to sell reported West Ham United target Moussa Wague for just £9 million as they look to raise funds.

The Hammers have had a lengthy interest in the Barcelona fullback.

West Ham wanted to buy Wague back in January. However, the Guardian reported that a loan deal with a permanent £16 million option fell through.

The Daily Star, meanwhile, claimed last month that West Ham are back in for Wague as they fear Jeremy Ngakia could walk away this summer at the end of his contract.

David Moyes’s side have finally found some form, recording recent wins over Chelsea and Norwich City which has all-but assured their Premier League survival.

Now, the club have one eye on the summer window and strengthening the team.

Right-back has been a problem area all season. Ryan Fredericks is inconsistent, while Pablo Zabeleta’s age meant the Argentine just wasn’t the same player as before.

Wague joined Nice on loan in January but as the French top-flight finishes early due to the global health crisis, the fullback returned to Barca having played just five games.

The Catalan club rate the Senegalese player. However, Radio Catalunya claim he is one of a few young sellable assets they are looking to raise cash for.

The publication states Barcelona will seek a modest £9 million for him.

It’s an opportunity for West Ham to strike a potential bargain and solve a long-standing issue with a player likely to have a decade of top-level football ahead of him.
