Jose Mourinho’s popularity among Tottenham Hotspur fans is at an all-time low.
Spurs posted their worst Premier League performance in recent memory last night as Mourinho’s side drew 0-0 away to Bournemouth.
Tottenham managed to finish the game without registering a single shot on target.
Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino as manager in November, the Argentine being the most successful manager for the Lilywhites in decades in terms of elevating the club to a new status.
And the club’s former chairman Lord Sugar joked on Twitter last night that he wants Pochettino back in North London.
Here’s how Tottenham fans responded to the billionaire on social media:
It must be noted that Mourinho, a two-time Champions League winner, hasn’t had much of a chance to put his own stamp on this Tottenham side yet.
Harry Kane, his best player, didn’t kick a ball from January 1 until Project Restart due to injury, in which time Spurs were dumped out of the Champions League and FA Cup, while the Portuguese manager only signed Steven Bergwijn and Gedson Fernandes – who is on loan – in January.
His stock in football has fallen following a failed spell at Manchester United but he remains a big-name coach and it’s still too early to say definitively that he’s failing in North London.
