According to France Football, David Luiz tried to ask Arsenal teammate Matteo Guendouzi for more professionalism – but his attempts fell on deaf ears.

It’s claimed that Guendouzi has been faced with a big meeting about his behaviour, with Mikel Arteta, Raul Sanllehi, Edu and Huss Fahmy all in attendance.

They wanted Guendouzi to apologise for his behaviour against Brighton and Hove Albion and his general attitude, but the Frenchman refused and instead attempted to justify his actions by saying he was defending injured teammate Bernd Leno against Brighton.

The report adds that Luiz attempted to give Guendouzi advice, asking the Frenchman for more professionalism in order to help himself and his team.

However, Guendouzi allegedly ‘brushed aside’ Luiz’s advice, and his subsequently ‘ejected from the group until further notice’.

Arteta seemingly doesn’t want Guendouzi around the team right now, and an exit may well materialise for him this summer.

It’s stated that Arsenal would want up to €35million (£32million) for Guendouzi, but may be open to loan-to-buy deals or swapping him.

Two years since arriving from Lorient, it seems that Guendouzi’s time at Arsenal is coming to an end. Unless he makes a U-turn in his stance and in his attitude, it’s hard to see the situation changing any time soon.
