Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter has told Sussex Live that Liverpool bringing in Sadio Mane and Fabinho last night proved that they were rattled by his side.
Liverpool raced into a 2-0 lead early on against Brighton and at that point it seems as if Jurgen Klopp’s side were about to cruise to victory.
However, Brighton caused Liverpool some problems as the game progressed.
The Seagulls pulled one back just before half-time and continued to look a threat after the break.
Klopp ended up introducing Mane and Fabinho in the second-half, and Liverpool went on to restore their two goal cushion, as they sealed a 3-1 win.
But Potter says that Klopp’s substitutions were a compliment to how well Brighton and played.
“I’m delighted with how we responded,” Potter said.
“Lesser teams would have gone under, but we fought back, had a good chance with Dan. We pushed and pushed. They brought Mane and Fabinho on, which tells you where the game was.”
Liverpool’s win has helped pushed them closer to the 100 point landmark, which seems to have become their aim now.
The Reds will need to win three of their last four games to break past the 100 points barrier, with their next match coming against Burnley.
