Liverpool fans have been left furious after Jurgen Klopp suggested that his side would not be very active in the transfer market to the London Evening Standard.
Liverpool have already missed out on Timo Werner, while there are now doubts emerging over whether they will get a deal over the line for Thiago Alcantara.
Indeed, it seems that the Reds could be set for another quiet summer, with Klopp hinting that his budget is not a large one.
“This is a difficult year for all football clubs in the world and I don’t think it’s a time where we talk about transfers like the rest around us did not happen. It’s just not possible, at least not for us,” he said.
The comments have not pleased Liverpool fans, who are desperate to see Klopp backed with more funds to improve his squad.
Liverpool’s squad may not be desperate for additions in the short-term, but there are fears around Anfield that things could go stale, unless Klopp is given funds to invest.
Liverpool may have dominated this term, but if they fail to make an addition this summer, it will be over two years since they made a signing to directly impact on their starting line-up.
Liverpool surely won’t want to stand still after winning their first ever Premier League title, and supporters are certainly keen for their side to start showing some more ambition in the market.
