Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left frustrated after it was announced that Michael Oliver would be in charge of their upcoming game against Arsenal.
Tottenham are due to take on Arsenal on Sunday, in what should be a hotly contested North London derby.
Just one point separates the two capital sides in the Premier League, but Spurs fans have been left annoyed as they feel that appointment of Oliver could suit Arsenal.
Mourinho was recently scathing with his criticism of the referee, after his role in disallowing a Harry Kane strike in Tottenham’s defeat to Sheffield United.
Oliver was the VAR on that day, and he determined that Lucas Moura had handled the ball in the build up.
Mourinho said after the game that Oliver is ‘not very good’ on the pitch.
And Tottenham fans are worried that their manager’s criticism may come back to haunt them against Arsenal.
Mourinho’s recent gripe with Oliver is the first time he has complained about official.
Mourinho has publicly criticised him on multiple occasions since 2017, so he may be disappointed that Oliver has been placed in charge of such an important game in Tottenham’s season.
Spurs are currently in eighth place in the Premier League table, with Bournemouth next up on Thursday.
