The Dil Bechara trailer record is simply astonishing, but we suspect that the film is set to break even more records when it’s released.

We’re sure we don’t need to remind you that 2020 has taken quite the hit, affecting industries globally.

For film fans, the cinematic year was thrown into turmoil when cinemas temporarily closed their doors in response to the pandemic. Since then, viewers have had to rely on streaming services to stay up to date with current releases.

Fortunately, the likes of Netflix, Amazon and more have ensured films still achieve an audience and there are some which many cannot wait to finally dive into.

While we’ll undoubtedly have to wait a long time for most of these, there are some set to reach us very soon.

One of these is Dil Bechara…

The trailer tides fans over

Sometimes a trailer can be just as highly anticipated as a film, with the likes of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet serving as a recent example.

This is also the case for Dil Bechara.

Directed by Mukesh Chhabra, the film has attracted a great deal of attention as Sushant Singh Rajputs’ swansong.

The beloved Indian actor passed away on June 14th 2020 at the age of 34 after tragically committing suicide at his home in Bandra, Mumbai. His death shook fans to the core and since then they’ve been desperate to experience his final performance.

Judging from the overwhelming reaction to the trailer, the film could actually be the biggest of the year in terms of viewership!

Dil Bechara trailer record

The long-awaited trailer for Dil Bechara arrived on Monday, July 6th 2020 and has already broken a significant record.

As noted by Outlook India, it became the most liked movie trailer in YouTube history in just 24 hours – yeah, seriously.

Currently [at the time of writing], it has over 25 million views and has amassed a whopping 5.5 million likes. To put that into perspective, the earlier source highlights that it scored more likes than the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame, which boasts 3.2 million. However, taking a look we noticed that the Avengers: Infinity War trailer has more than its sequel with 3.6 million.

When does the film come out?

Dil Bechara is set to reach screens on Friday, July 24th 2020. You’ll be able to catch it over on Disney+ Hotstar.

Sushant plays the character of Manny and the film is actually based on Josh Green’s 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars, previously translated to the screen in 2014 by director Josh Boone starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.

It chronicles the blossoming romance shared between two cancer patients.
