Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has raved about Real Madrid-owned Daniel Ceballos to Sky Sports.

Arteta is pleased with how Ceballos is improving and evolving, and has hailed his importance for the team.

The Arsenal boss has also expressed his desire to sign the 23-year-old Spain international midfielder on a permanent contract this summer.

The former Real Betis star joined Arsenal on loan from Spanish giants Madrid in the summer of 2019.

Arteta told Sky Sports about Ceballos: “I am really happy with him. I love how much he likes to play football, the passion he puts into every training session and in every game.

“His celebrations, whether he’s on the pitch or on the bench, he puts his life into it. He’s evolving the right way and has become a really important player for us.

“We are talking to the club – obviously we don’t own the player, it’s not in our hands. The clubs need to have communication and see what we can do.”

Stats

According to WhoScored, Ceballos has made 14 starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season, providing two assists in the process.

The midfielder also scored one goal in six Europa League fixtures, one goal in three FA Cup matches, and played once in the EFL Cup for the Gunners this campaign, according to WhoScored.

Permanent Arsenal move?

Ceballos is still quite young, and Madrid may not be willing to let go of the midfielder just yet, but he would be a good signing for Arsenal on a permanent basis at the right price.

It is clear that Arteta has been impressed by the 23-year-old, and the Arsenal boss will coach him into a better player.
