Liverpool potentially signing Thiago Alcantara has been gathering quite a bit of momentum in recent days.
Spanish outlet Sport claimed this week that the Bayern Munich midfielder was closing in on a move to Anfield.
Thiago has one year left on his contract and, according to Guillem Balague, has rejected the chance to sign a new one, prompting speculation that the Bundesliga side will cash in this summer.
And Liverpool, it looks like, is the most likely destination as things stand.
It remains to be seen whether he winds up on Merseyside or not, but it does look like he’s certainly leaving the German giants.
Thiago was subbed on for the final few minutes of last night’s DFB Pokal final win over Bayer Leverkusen.
Videos of the 29-year-old looking emotional during the ceremony are circulating on Twitter and some Liverpool fans believe it’s a sign that he’s leaving the Allianz Arena for good.
Liverpool have already missed out on one target this summer after Timo Werner joined Chelsea, but it does look increasingly like the the Premier League champions will get this one over the line.
